Sentimental Sundays Challenge #78

This week the challenge over at Sentimental Sundays is to create a Halloween Project with a sentiment.
I have been wanting to play with my PTI Friendship Jar and Friendship Jar Fall Fillers stamp sets for awhile now,  and this was a perfect opportunity. I used the PTI dies to cut the jar and lid, then embossed the jar stamp, ghosts, spiders and lid with Versa Mark ink and white embossing powder. I decided to use my Nestabilities for the deckled edge rectangles and some strips cut using the Fiskars Treading Water edge punch. I used the IROCK to add some bling and a white gel pen for some doodling. Cardstock, buttons, twine and ribbon from PTI.
The projects that are submitted each week are terrific. Lots of inspiration and fun to browse.

"A Spooky Banner" for My Creative Time's Design Team Call!

Happy Friday everyone! Emma at My Creative Time is having a design team call. I thought it would be fun to submit a project. I have been following Emma for quite some time and I am always so encouraged by her creative projects and encouraging words. Her Throwback Thursday Challenge was the first I ever entered! It has been great to see the stamps and dies she has created, as they are a wonderful addition to my crafting!
Ok, for this banner I used the PTI coasters again, added pattern paper, inked the edges. I am still trying to perfect the rosette; but, I am not giving up! The font is from the Happy Hauntings cartridge using the vampire shadow and vampire font cut at 2 1/2". I used my Imagine with the Snapshot Texture cartridge and the Happy Hauntings cartridge to create the extra images. (I am fairly new to the Imagine and still need to do an update so I can use my Gypsy as well). I ran all through various cuttlebug folders, added a little bling with my IROCK tool, a bit of Glossy Accents and some doodling with a white gel pen. The sentiments are from one of Emmas called Mixed Holiday Sentiments. I am loving this set for all of the upcoming holidays. (I do have to say that when I order a set of stamps from her, it comes super quick....I love that!) I punched the sentiments with various EK Success punches. They're a bit hard to see in the photo, but I also added a couple of PTI buttons.

This has been a fun challenge for me. If you get a chance check out the amazing entries over at

Embellished gift bag and tag using the Imagine

For this quick project I took a white gift bag (I buy these in a bundle using my 40% coupon from Michaels to have on hand) and covered the front and back with PTI berry sorbet cardstock, PTI ribbon, prima flower and used a border punch for the top and bottom edge. The images were cut using the Imagine More Cards cartridge. I selected the images, used the layers feature, pressed print & cut, then assembled. I inked the edges a bit a popped up some of it for more dimension.

Have a wonderful day!

Wacky Wednesday #57 Anything Goes

Over at More Than Favors, Paula is hosting her weekly challenge and this week it's Anything Goes! This works great for me as I always have lots of projects in the works (if only I could get them posted).
These cupcake holders and banner were created for my sister-in-law. I used the Cupcake Wrapper Lite Cartridge for these. Simple to use really, just the base and the layer. All of the images are quite detailed and getting the size right can be tricky, but the results are terrific. Just set your speed on your Cricut to low. (takes a while to cut, but great results). The banner was cut from Country Life Cartridge.
Hope your week is going great!

Sharing a bit of my niece's wedding

I am sharing a banner I made for my niece Cecy and her husband Matt as well as some decorated glasses to celebrate the engagement a while back. Her colors were tangerine and cobalt blue, so I tried to incorporate those with some fun paper, prima flowers and of course capture the moment with sentiments from PBD All in the Family Stamp set. They also used the banner at their reception:)

We celebrated their wedding in South Lake Tahoe the end of last week. I am blessed to have been a part of the union between two people who are so very special to me. Unfortunately, there were so many details for Aunt Donna to attend to, that the photos of the finished projects didn't make it to my camera. 2 of my girls were bridesmaids,(Sara on the far left, Rachel on the far right, the two in the middle are the bride's little sisters)  our little guy and grandson were ring bearers and my oldest son gave the bride away. We were also up till the wee hours the nite before the wedding making the bridal bouquet, bridesmaid's bouquets, corsages and boutonnieres. So special!

Wacky Wednesday Challenge #56 Halloween

This week over at More Than Favors, the challenge is to make something with a Halloween theme. I decided on a banner for our front door.
I used the Plantin Schoolbook for the circles on the rosettes, Font is from Winter Woodlands and the cute little ghost is from Simply Charmed. The banner squares are coasters from PTI that I covered with K&Co patterned paper and inked the edges with black ink. I added some stickles, ribbon and a button.

More Treat Boxes for Wacky Wednesday Challenge #55

Paula over at More Than Favors is hosting the Weekly Wacky Wednesday Challenge and this week the challenge is to make treat boxes.

This is wedding week for my niece..I have been busy with favors and decided to share some favor/treat boxes for the bride's table. (This niece is the big sister of my niece who married in August. I didn't get a chance to post any of those projects though.. time got away
from me, just too crazy)
I used the Happy Hauntings Cartridge again with DCWV Tahiti Beach Paper Stack. This wedding is pretty untraditional, they are getting married on a pier in South Lake Tahoe, the colors are blue and orange with a bit of a beach/shabby chic theme. I didn't have the time to embellish the way I originally thought, and used some K & Co accents to make the process a bit quicker. I did wrap some tulle around the box and will probably add a little something else. I better hurry though, the wedding is Friday afternoon.

I am making shell candies using a mold and candy melts for the treats inside.

Treat Boxes for Pinkalicious Blog Hop!

My Pink Stamper is having a little challenge for her monthly Blog Hop: Treat Boxes!
I decided to try something new and made the 3D box from the Happy Hauntings Cartridge. (I cut off the extras for a smooth top)The sentiments are from My Pink Stampers "Family and Friends", "Sweetest Cupcake", and "Simply Sweet Occasions" stamp sets. I used EK Success punches, Maya Road chipboard embellishments that I embossed and glittered, and some ink.
Hope you get a chance to check out the wonderful projects over at My Pink Stamper.

Throwback Thursday Challenge!

This week's challenge is to use an older cartridge with a card feature and include a Halloween theme. I love Emma's challenges, it's always great to use those older cartridges and find a fun new image you might not have tried before.
I decided on the Wild Card Cartridge and used the pumpkin card cut at 4 1/2" (note: the envelope won't cut that large on a 12x12 mat though). I cut the card image twice so that there would be a black background against the orange pumpkin. I embossed the back of the card with a pumpkin/vine Cuttlebug embossing folder and the green layers with the Swiss Dots folder. Kept the details simple with a bit of stitching and stickles. The sentiment is from My Creative Time's "Mixed Holiday Sentiment" stamp set. This set is perfect for fall, Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas too.
Hope you're having a great Saturday. Sara is at a soccer tournament with dad, so Seth and I are home for a bit getting some projects done.

Peachy Keen Let's Face it Friday Challenge: Leaves!

Happy Thursday everyone. Today's post is two-fold: Since I have cut back on my hours at work, I am able to do more preschool with Seth and Cory. One of our fall projects was to make a thankful tree. I cut out several leaves with the Sesame Street Seasons Cartridge, stamped some Peachy Keen Faces on them and inked the edges a bit. I used several Peachy sets: Everday Character Faces, Wide Eyed Kids, Princess Face Assortment and Happy Lashes.
Our little tree is just made from some paper bags and stapled to the wall. We talked about what being thankful means and tried to connect the concept with what is important to them (they are almost 4, but the concept was still a little fuzzy). They took turns putting the thankful words and leaves on the tree in random fashion.
I haven't done preschool in quite awhile, so homeschooling Sara (9th grade) and the boys is quite a stretch!

Check out Peachy Keen's Challenge Blog for some fun projects!
